Toilet and drain clogs are usually quite simple to fix on your own. Use the troubleshooting tips below to attempt to resolve the issue before contacting us.

Toilets

A plunger is the most useful tool for clearing a toilet clog. If you do not already own one, you can purchase a plunger inexpensively from most hardware and home stores.

To use your plunger, push the device into place over the drain hole and create suction with the lip. Then, firmly work the plunger up and down to push the blockage through the drain.

Sink/Shower Drains

If your sink or shower isn't draining properly, you may be able to use a drain cleaning tool to remove debris from the pipes. You can find small plastic drain cleaners at most hardware stores. You snake these into the pipe and pull the debris up to dispose of it.

You can also try liquid cleaning products, but make certain you only use drain-safe cleaners. Corrosive chemicals may cause irreparable damage to the plumbing system in your rental home.

If you lose power in your home, please first check that the circuit breaker hasn't flipped. If it's in the correct position, call your utility provider to see if they can clarify the issue for you.

There could be outages in your neighborhood or an account discrepancy resulting in access problems.

If you don't have hot water in your rental home, locate the heating tank and check the settings on the side. Is it in vacation mode? Is the temperature too low?

If you make any updates, wait 15 to 20 minutes before testing the temperature again.

If your air conditioning or heating system isn't working properly, please check all thermostat settings before asking us for help.
